Taken from her ‘Cool Girl’ collection of songs (out now), ‘complicated’ is a track by US-based indie artist Jaydi Zavala and is genuinely unlike anything we’ve heard before in quite some time.
The track’s bouncy production serves us with an interesting array of sonic textures, while the chorus will almost certainly play on loop in your minds for the rest of the day.
“The lyrics play out a scene of Jaydi and a man having a conversation about where Jaydi was last night. She flirts between letting the truth be known or remaining a mystery. Then in the chorus, she confidently owns up to being ‘complicated’.”
